Vision Books, a Division of the Vision Entertainment Group, is a publishing imprint with approximately eight titles in print and approximately thirty titles waiting in the wings, as yet unpublished. In 1997, Vision suffered a significant loss while in a business relationship with Random House during the latter's merger with Bertelsmann, the German publishing conglomerate. Vision's planned release of 20 Horror, Science-Fiction and Fantasy novels as well as a new book in John Norman's popular GOR science-fiction series with Random House as its marketing and distribution partner had to be unexpectedly shelved while Vision sought another partner. Despite everyone's best efforts, Vision's operating capital crunch at Christmas 1997, still with no marketing partner, forced the sidelining of the entire Book Division and the layoff of much of its staff. Vision's Authors include Lynn Abbey (the creator of Thieves' World), Ed Greenwood
(creator of TSR's Forgotten Realms), Paul Kidd, Jeff Grubb, Mary Herbert, Elaine Cunningham, Barb Hendee,
Margaret Carspecken and many more. Lynn Abbey and Ed Greenwood collaborated to created the Shared-World of the
Mornmist, the first book of which (The Rats of Acomar) has already been published.
