Welcome to the American Journal of Anthropomorphics!

The American Journal of Anthropomorphics is an industry "black book" featuring art, pricing and contact information for dozens of animators and character artists from around the world. It is a series of books that are valuable either as a resource when commissioning artwork or simply for enjoying the art contained therein.

The series was begun in 1993, and after four books,
have become well known. As the series continues
onward, it is steadily gaining ground in the
field of commercial character illustration. The most
unique element about the books is that while most
"black books" charge their participating artists
up to $3,000 per page, the Journal is FREE. None of the
artists whose work was selected to appear had to pay
anything for the privilege.

And now, Vision is gearing up to bring forth the long-awaited
fifth issue of the American Journal of Anthropomorphics.

With a new millenium will come a new Journal, with more pages,
more artists and more opportunities for its participating artists to prosper.

Submit to the AJA Online!

In the past, artists needed to physically submit artwork through the mail to Vision for the Journal. This process was time consuming, not to mention annoying! One of the most pleasant new features of the fifth (and future) editions is a function of this brand new website that lets artists digitally upload their art submissions to the magazine. Online submission will be available beginning in November, 2001.

If you are an artist interested in submitting work for possible publication in the Journal, please take a moment to Subscribe to the AJA's Mailing List and get an account. When the Online Subscription area is opened, you will be able to upload art electronically and will be given a note to advise you that Submission Area is open!
